How Often Do I Need an EICR?

This is one of the most common questions we’re asked regularly and the answer depends on the type of installation.

For example higher risk environments such as Petrol Stations which contain flammable gases or chemicals these are required to be tested every year. Similarly for dusty or wet environments such as Launderettes or Swimming Pools these need to be inspected and tested on an annual basis.

However for these areas it’s only the higher risk environments which require testing every year and not the rest of the installation. So for example at a Leisure Centre only the swimming pool or Sauna areas would need to be tested every year. The rest of the building would be required every 3 years.
